Day 2 Sault Saint Marie

This is a retrospective post so skip it if you have been following on fb. Travelled as a mini caravan today   Vern got to test out the cb. Lunch was a nice spot but soooo many caterpillars you could hear them eating.   0DDF57F8-3BD2-4BB1-AED0-1EBABD2B614F43EDF9B0-B098-4003-9B6B-7BD897E99609ACFF61CA-1338-4302-B593-07AF044EED0A200E08C4-6FEE-4DCA-BF83-73655F6AE3B0

Driving through soup. The mighty Vern has me scanning for moose while he watches the road.  We are the sweep in the caravan  meaning we are last to leave the campground and will arrive last leaving no airstream on the road  for the runners out there just like on a long run  B595B05A-7361-4B72-80BC-F7005CEF3F4C1F809C89-E301-4339-820A-0BFB2E88EBFA

Great to see people last night.   thanks for the send off

Well 4 sleeps from take off and we decide to load our bicycles onto the bike rack to check things out.   My bike loads on easily with no issues, all is well until we try to add Verns bicycle however we can’t release the clamp to secure Vern’s bicycle.   We look and puzzle only to notice there is a lock integrated into the release and we have no key.  Ponder ponder, look. look. not on Airstream keys look look ..  Finally we call Can Am RV in London where we bought the Airstream… asking where is the key…. Can Am quickly identifies they don’t have the key either.   Without missing a beat, CanAm responds that they will courier us a new bicycle rack at no charge and have it to us before we leave all we have to do is pop the release pins and put the new rack with keys on.  I can’t recommend CanAm enough for customer service.. The racks are $500.00

A few hours later we are tinkering around getting things ready and  Vern hears a whistle and smells propane….  Don’t think much about it Vern heads out and then I hear a whistle, see a puff of white coming out of one of our recently filled tanks and smell propane, like lots of propane.  Not a good thing.  I am to say the least, mildly concerned.     A google search reveals some info but the jackpot is struck when I post in the airstream community.  Over 20 responses almost immediately with info on the problem and the solution.  Problem over filled propane tanks and a very hot day.   Solution, Vern returns home, we let the release valve do its job ( the whistle) and run some appliances that use gas and don’t move anything or light anything close by.  At least we know this can be a normal occurrence and to watch out when folks are filling our propane tanks.

Painting just about done.  View from the front looking back and view from the bedroom looking forward.uJ3nGwXoTsOJ87fT4NC1dASSJXII%1T2O2c+YeCapxVw
